Linden Groves, our Head of Operations and Strategy, along with four other runners all successfully completed the London Marathon on Sunday 27th April, so far raising more than £10,000 in aid of our historic parks and gardens.
Over the last 18 months our five runners have been busy training in their local green spaces, with Linden travelling across the UK to train in some of our finest parks and gardens. Along the way, she met the people who look after them from Kenwood to Sheffield Botanical Gardens, Wicksteed Park, the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Benmore Botanic Gardens and The Walks in Kings Lynn. You can watch Linden’s Marathon Journey here.
Linden completed the 26.2 mile marathon – one of the hottest on record – in 5hrs 33m, with our four other runners Max Buttinger, Ruth Holmes, Gary Spreadbury and Ruth Tufnell all successfully crossing the finish line and helping to support parks and gardens in the process.
We couldn’t be prouder of Linden and all running team for taking up the challenge and raising money on behalf of the Gardens Trust. Thank you!
