Our New Research Symposium & Annual Essay Prize

Our two annual Research Projects, open to members and non-members alike, are listed in our Research section.

Details of our 8th New Research Symposium  which gives all new researchers, in the field of garden history at least, a chance to present their endeavours to an interested audience, can be found following the link. This year’s event takes place in Birmingham on Sunday 2nd September, 2018, as part of our Annual Conference. The deadline for submitting a proposal is Wednesday 2nd May, 2018.

Our other regular project is the Annual Mavis Batey Essay Prize, now in its 14th year. Mavis was for many years the ‘public face’ of garden history, and brought so many diverse people into the field. Details of how to enter this year’s Prize can be found here. The deadline for submitting your Essay is Friday 18th May 2018.
