We’re pleased to be featured in the Historic Environment Overview 2023-2024, published each year by the Historic Environment Forum with support from Historic England.
The report outlines significant achievements for the sector, showcasing collective efforts to preserve, celebrate, and adapt the historic environment for current and future generations.
Highlighting developments and achievements in the last financial year, our work features heavily in the report and includes updates on a broad range of our activities from the last year including:
- An update on how we manage casework – thanks to grant support from Historic England, we migrated our own casework to the shared JCNAS database.
- In partnership with the National Federation of Parks and Green Spaces, in June 2023 we asked Friends of Parks and Green Spaces about how they help to look after green spaces; the challenges they face and their understanding of their site’s development as a designed landscape.
- Our award-winning Suffolk’s Unforgettable Garden Story project, funded by Historic England. The project helped research 20 historic designed
landscapes in Suffolk and seven of these sites have been registered as a result. - Our annual Volunteer Award, won in 2023 by Roger Last for his book Enticing Paths.
