The Gardens Trust Patrons Scheme

What is a patron?

Patrons help us to protect historic parks and gardens that are under threat. Our patrons mean the world to us, we are reliant on their generosity to help fund our work. The annual commitment of our wonderful patrons enables us to plan ahead and deliver our services.

To become a patron, we ask for a suggested minimum annual commitment of just £500.

Each year historic parks and gardens face many challenges, from neglect and vandalism to lack of funding and development. We work closely with owners, developers, and local people to look after these special places, but the threat is still increasing. Your annual donation will help to:

  • Champion their history and the people that made them
  • Protect their heritage through our role as a consultee in the planning system
  • Support those that care for these important places today
  • Appreciate the space they offer for nature to flourish
  • Ensure that everyone can enjoy parks and gardens, now and forever
