Gardens Trust Study Tour to Ireland
Sunday 28 June to Friday 3 July 2020
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak this tour has had to be cancelled. The organiser will be in touch with all who have booked on it, and hopes that it may be possible to run it next year.
Doreen and Ivan Wilson, members from Northern Ireland, have planned another study tour to Irish gardens. You are invited to join them as they explore the ancient south east of Ireland, based at the 4*Minella Hotel in Clonmel.
Visits will include Fota, near Cork, and Lismore Castle; Anne’s Grove and Donneraille are relatively unknown on garden tours and few may have heard of the magnificent estate of Curraghamore. No tour to south east Ireland could omit the plantsman gardens of Altamont and Mount Congreve.
What is the connection with J.C. Loudon, with Joseph Paxton and with William Robinson? Join this tour to find out and be surprised at the wealth of history, plants and people in this part of Ireland – and a few other surprises as well!
The tour is restricted to 30 people and the provisional cost of the 6 night tour is €1400 (Euro) per person with a single supplement of €270.
The cost is fully inclusive of dinner/bed/breakfast at the Minella Hotel, all lunches, entrances fees and tour, and coaching.
