The Gardens Trust is looking for a new trustee for the role of treasurer, to take over when our current treasurer steps down from the board in 2022. The treasurer will work closely with the Chair and other trustees to oversee the financial management of the charity and advise on strategic matters.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of charity financial procedures and the reporting requirements of the Charity Commission, SORP and Companies House. However, a desire to support a small established organisation and a willingness to learn and adapt skills to our needs are the most important qualities we are looking for.
The appointment is for an initial term of three years, renewable once to a maximum of six years. The board of the Gardens Trust meets four times a year during the day, currently in March, June, September and December. During the pandemic, meetings have been held by Zoom but we plan to resume face to face meetings in central London when possible. The treasurer may also be asked to participate in management committee meetings and to take on specific projects as required. The time commitment is estimated to be approximately two days per month.
To register your interest please provide a CV, contact details for two referees and a covering letter outlining why you wish to apply for this opportunity, and how you meet the requirements for the role to the Honorary Secretary Maureen Nolan. The closing date for applications is 28 February 2022.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an informal discussion with a trustee panel in early March. The Gardens Trust is wholly committed to inclusion and diversity, and to building a culture and environment where everyone is appreciated for the contributions they make.
If you require any further information about the position, please contact the Secretary.
