I am interested in hearing from anyone with a working knowledge of copyright law, in particular its application to research carried out by the members of local Garden Trusts.
The Gloucestershire Gardens & Landscape Trust has a very active Research Group and our local county archives offer a rich source of useful material. The archives do not own copyright on the majority of this material and our Trust does not (yet) have a Copyright Licensing Agency licence. I would like to clarify the extent to which our researchers can copy material, and then produce digital copies for bodies such as the Historic Environment Record officer, Parks & Gardens, English Heritage, and our own cloud storage.
